Although it improved from 44.7% in 2004 to 60% in 2015, Pakistan’s literacy rate is still low, and the country is rated 146th out of 188 in terms of human development Index (HDI). The literacy rate varies by location and is lower for women than for males. To combat the low literacy rate, government of Pakistan introduced the Ehsaas Scholarship Program in 2019. Purpose Of Ehsaas Scholarships

For PhD students: The scholarship amount is Rs. 200,000 per year, which includes tuition fees, accommodation expenses, and a stipend for books and other educational expenses.

If the student maintains a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5/4.0 or 3.0/5.0, the scholarships are renewable for each year of study.
