Sehat Sahulat Card Benefit Package is a health insurance program launched by the government of Pakistan to provide financial assistance to low-income families who cannot afford quality healthcare services. The program covers the cost of hospitalization, surgery, and other medical treatments for the families who fall below the poverty line.

The basic assessment criteria for the Sehat Sahulat Program in Pakistan are as follows:

  1. Poverty score: The beneficiary should belong to a household with a poverty score of 32 or below according to the Poverty Scorecard.
  2. Family size: The beneficiary’s family should consist of up to 8 members, including the head of the household, spouse, and unmarried children.
  3. Age: The beneficiary should be between 5 and 70 years of age.
  4. Residency: The beneficiary should be a resident of the respective district or tehsil where the program is being implemented.
  5. Assets: The beneficiary should not own more than 2.5 acres of irrigated land or 5 acres of non-irrigated land.
  6. Income: The beneficiary should have a monthly income of less than PKR 25,000.
  7. Enrollment: The beneficiary should not be enrolled in any other government-sponsored health insurance program.

The detailed assessment criteria for the Sehat Sahulat Program (SSP) in Pakistan are as follows:

  1. Poverty Score: The beneficiaries must belong to the poorest segment of society and have a poverty score of less than 32. The poverty score is calculated by the Pakistan Poverty Scorecard, which takes into account household demographics, housing characteristics, assets, and access to services.
  2. Geographic Location: The beneficiaries must be residents of the districts selected for the SSP rollout. The program was initially launched in 23 districts of Pakistan, and additional districts are being added gradually.
  3. Age: The beneficiaries must be aged 18 years or older. There is no upper age limit for eligibility.
  4. Family Size: The beneficiaries must belong to households with a family size of up to seven members. However, households with eight or more members can also be covered under the program, subject to the availability of funds.
  5. Disability: The beneficiaries must not be registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) disability database. However, persons with disabilities who are not registered with BISP can be eligible for the SSP.
  6. Enrollment: The beneficiaries must be enrolled in the program through a transparent and impartial process. The selection process is carried out through a door-to-door survey and a poverty scorecard assessment.
  7. Validation: The eligibility of the beneficiaries is validated through an electronic verification system that cross-checks their data with other databases such as the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
  8. Renewal: The beneficiaries must renew their SSP enrollment on an annual basis, subject to the continued fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.
